ERP RATES CHANGE IN JUNE FOR SCHOOL HOLIDAY, ALL LOWERED $1

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) of Singapore plays a crucial role in managing the country’s transportation system, including implementing the Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) system. One of the key features of this system is the annual adjustment of ERP rates during holiday periods, particularly school holidays. This practice aims to enhance traffic flow and accommodate the changing travel patterns of the public.

Purpose of Rate Adjustments

The primary objective of adjusting ERP rates during holiday periods is to alleviate congestion on the roads. During school holidays, traffic patterns often shift as families embark on vacations, and students are not commuting to school. By lowering ERP rates, the LTA encourages drivers to utilize the road network more efficiently, thereby reducing peak hour congestion and improving overall travel experience.
