A family’s pet dog was poisoned to death after a man threw a purportedly poisoned bun into a house and the dog ate the tainted bun, according to China Press.
The incident happened in Subang Jaya, Malaysia, on 16 February in the middle of the night, at her home in SS17, and was captured on her house’s CCTV cameras.
The owner of the dog spoke to China Press and said that her Belgian Shepherd collapsed after seizing up, foaming at the mouth as its eyes rolled back, before dying.
The woman said that she checked her CCTV footage to see what happened and saw someone throwing something into her house.
The alleged perpetrator was seen wearing a dark t-shirt, shorts and slippers; approaching the house and throwing something into the unit.
The owner later found the poisoned bun that her dog had bitten into.
She said that her dog’s body was cold and stiff and that its tongue was dangling out of its mouth; she also added that the vet told her that the poison that her dog ingested was an “extremely potent one”.
She also revealed that this was not an isolated incident, and said that her children had previously found a coloured pill in their home – thankfully nothing happened.
The owner questioned how anyone could be so cruel, asking what did they do to deserve such cruel treatment from the stranger.
She also expressed her grief and despair at seeing her “cute, living” pet dying such a terrible death.
