A 37-year-old man former AIA insurance agent was jailed for 15 months after he was found guilty of breach of trust. It was reported that the man had stolen $117,000 from a customer that was given to him for insurance payment.

The offence only comes to light after the customer received a letter from the company informing about the cancellation of his policy due to outstanding payment. The police were alerted by the victim and the man was arrested subsequently.
In response to the incident, the company spokesman said that the man has since left the company in Sep 2019.
