Jason Scott Herrin, an adult man, has accepted responsibility for having bad pictures and videos of children, as well as trying to arrange to spend time with someone who was under 18 years old.

The man is 49 years old and from America. When the authorities looked at his phone in August 2020 for a different reason, they found 90 bad pictures of children and 31 bad movies. The pictures showed naked girls in inappropriate situations. The man had been downloading such material since 2019.

Additionally, Herrin was also found to have communicated with an unknown person on November 14, 2019, to offer four million rupiah (S$340) for S with 12-year-old girls.

The person used to work at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) but was fired when the university found out about these things. The person is waiting to find out how long they will have to stay at a place where people go when they have done something wrong. They could have to stay there for up to five years, or they could be fined, or they could be punished in another way.

It is important to make sure that children are safe and protected from people who want to do them harm. If someone talks to you about something that makes you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, it is important to tell a trusted adult right away.
