
According to a media release, a former NUS student was sentenced to 7 weeks of jail on 29 Jun 2020 for taking photos of women showering in the campus.
The man pleaded guilty to two counts of insulting a woman modesty on the 28 Feb 2020. 2 other criminal trespass charges were taken into consideration during his sentencing.
On 14 Feb 2019, the man took photos of a 23-year-old woman in the shower after he felt tempted. The man was spotted by the victim but was able to escape to the male toilet before he was caught.
On 05 Mar 2019, the man committed the same crime of taking photos of another 23-year-old woman while she was showering. The man was spotted by the second victim and was confronted by her after she finished her shower.
The police were alerted by the victim after the incident. The man was later suspended from school and was asked to go through mandatory counselling and rehabilitation session.
The man is currently out on bail for $10,000 and he is intending to appeal against his sentence.
