EX-RP STUDENT ADMITS TRESPASSING INTO GIRLS’ TOILETS TO FILM THEM PEEING

A 19-year-old ex-student from Republic Polytechnic (who cannot be named as he commited the offence when he was under 18) guy pleaded guilty to trespassing into women’s toilets, including in his school, to film teen girls peeing.

He pleaded guilty to 2 counts of criminal trespass and one count of insulting the modesty of a woman.

Another count of insulting a woman’s modesty will be taken into consideration during sentencing.

His defence lawyer, Chong Xin Yi, said that he was suspended by RP and has since enrolled into another school, although she stopped short of naming the school.

The court heard that a young girl entering a toilet behind a Starbucks cafe at Keat Hong CC on November 11, 2018, and the accused followed her, intending to peep at her, but he changed his mind when he was in the cubicle as her was afraid of getting caught.

He remained in the cubicle until another girl entered the toilet about 15 minutes later and used the same cubicle that was beside him, where he then put his phone above her cubicle and started filming her.

He was caught and given a 24-month conditional warning, although he later reoffended about a year later.

The accused was at Republic Polytechnic when he saw a 17-year-old student entering a toilet, so he decided to follow her.

He went into the cubicle next to hers and placed his jacket on the dividing wall to avoid suspicion.

He was spotted about 5 seconds later by the girl, who dressed herself and left the cubicle, waiting for him to leave the cubicle for 5 to 10 minutes but he remained inside.

She then waited for him outside the toilet and she confronted him when he emerged.

He will return to court for sentencing on April 5.
