A little about me: I am an expat living in Singapore for just over 4 years in my early 30’s with my spouse and young child (also expats). Both of us work in Tech at relatively mid-level jobs bringing in about 20-25k total a month. We believe we live fairly modest lives, came from very average families and very average education.

Context: Of late, it feels like there is a lot of disdain and hate targeted at expats. While these feelings have always been there and we have faced them, it’s never been as open and blatant as it is currently is.

Question: Do Singaporeans really feel threatened by expats that they will take your jobs, or are more preferred in the workforce?”
