An explosion reportedly took place at Thomson Three condominium in Bright Hill Drive on 22 April at about 4.15pm, according to Shin Min Daily News.
A group of children were having swimming lessons at the time in the condominium’s swimming pool when a chemical substance apparently caused an explosion.
A 36-year-old man who is believed to be a worker there, was reportedly injured,
The swimming pool was then cordoned off, according to a resident living in the area who spoke to the Chinese newspaper.
The resident, a 62-year-old housewife, told SMDN that she didn’t see and fire or smoke, but she saw paramedics carrying stretchers.
Following the explosion, the group of children who were having swimming lessons at the time immediately left the swimming pool.
The SCDF confirmed with SMDN that they were alerted to a fire involving a chemical powder, which had burned itself out before the SCDF reached the scene.
They said that one person sustained minor injuries but refused conveyance to the hospital.
