34-year-old Niki Han Jiayi, a director of a fashion store, was fined $3,000 on 2 June for not wearing her mask at her Far East Plaza Shop on several occasions during the pandemic.
She was seen in her Facebook live videos without a mask on, interacting with customers, as well as modelling a dress in September and October 2020.
Han pleaded guilty to three charges under the Covid-19 (Temporary Measures) Act, with 18 other similar charges being considered for her sentencing.
Han is listed as a director and shareholder of Nimisski Fashion, as well as 3 other companies with the name Nimisski.
The fashion shop sells women’s clothing and accessories and has outlets at Suntec City and Paragon.
Han was hosting a Facebook live stream to sell her products on 29 September 2020, and was seen interacting with customers in the background without a facemask on sometime between 3pm to 4.15pm
She did the same thing again on 6 October 2020, between 3pm to 5pm.
Han was once again seen interacting with customers without a face mask on 17 October between 3pm to 5.50pm, while modelling a dress and promoting it verbally.
Enforcement officers from Singapore Tourism Board conducted online checks of Facebook live videos that were streamed from the premises and she was observed through the videos to have not worn a mask on several occasions.
Han also had an unrelated previous conviction of selling counterfeit products in 2018.
