FILIPINO MAID STOLE $32K FROM EMPLOYER TO BUILD HOUSE IN HOMETOWN

Delos Reyes Anabelle Llasos, 47-years-old, pleaded guilty to 3 counts of criminal breach of trust and was sentenced to one year imprisonment yesterday (6 August).

She had reportedly stolen more than $32,000 from her employer to build a house in her hometown in the Philippines.

The theft(s) took place over a period of 5 years.

Llasos was working for the victims, a 52-year-old man and his wife since 2010 and was entrusted with an ATM card for her to use to buy things for them.

She then stole money on several occasions to fund her house building in the Philippines.

Llasos withdrew about $200 to $300 each time from the ATM, a few times monthly.

She remitted a total of $32,080 (the stolen money) to her hometown.

The money was discovered to be missing last May by the employer who then reported the matter to the police.
