FILIPINO MAN FINED $4,700 FOR LEAVING HIS QUARANTINE ROOM FOR 8 SECS

According to a foreign media release, a Filipino man has been fined NT$100,000 (SGD$4,700) in Taiwan for breaching quarantine rules. It was reported that he was caught on CCTV for stepping out of his hotel room into the hallway for a duration of 8 seconds.

According to the Taiwan’s Health Department, no one is allowed to step out of their room during their quarantine period no matter the duration. The incident was reported to the
Health Department after one of the hotel staff spotted the man leaving his room from the CCTV.

Taiwan has taken strict measures to fight against COVID-19 and will not hesitate to take action against those who had breached the rules.

As of 6 Dec, Taiwan has only recorded 716 cases with 7 death.
