A fire broke out at Block 303 Woodlands Street 31 at a unit on the fourth floor of the block. The Singapore Civil Defence Force said that they were alerted to the fire on 8 May at about 2.50pm
Three residents from the affected unit had evacuated themselves before the SCDF arrived at the scene.
A cat was also found in the living room of the affected unit and rescued by the SCDF firefighters, being brought out to safety from the fire.
About 30 residents from the block were evacuated by the SCDF and Singapore Police Force as a precaution, and 1 person was conveyed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital for breathlessness.
Firefighters from the Woodlands Fire Station managed to put out the fire using a water jet. At the time of writing, investigations into the cause of the fire is currently underway.
This latest fire is one of two fires that broke out across Singapore, with the other one taking place at Block 147 Tampines Avenue 5 earlier in the day at 8.10am.

The fire, which involved the contents of a bedroom in a fourth-floor unit, was extinguished by firefighters from Woodlands Fire Station using a water jet.
Three occupants from the affected unit evacuated prior to SCDF’s arrival.
A cat was found in the living room of the affected unit by SCDF firefighters and brought out to safety.
About 30 residents from the affected block were evacuated by the Police as a precautionary measure.
A person from the affected block was assessed by an SCDF paramedic for breathlessness and conveyed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.
The cause of fire is under investigation.
