FLORIST RESPONDS TO CUSTOMER WHO RECEIVED HALF A BASKET OF FLOWERS

Following a netizen’s review of their product online, where a Facebook user Clarice Teo shared how she ordered a basket of flowers for $108 and allegedly received half a basket instead, the florist, Seasons by Dahlia has since responded with a lengthy statement on their Facebook page.

Here is what they said

Hello all! Addressing the situation:

• It is NOT our intention to scam / cheat anybody’s money and are truly sorry if we have made anyone feel that way. We have already issued a refund immediately after basket was collected back, and also made changes immediately to the way we craft our baskets. Our PRESERVED baskets has been crafted one sided, although the sponge that is able to be seen for other designs has not be as severely obvious as the Mariposa design. This we admit is our fault for not checking before the basket went out. We realised we should have phrased our reply better.

• Changes include stating on the website, and filling the back of any PRESERVED basket fully, regardless of the design. We have made changes from that day onwards.

• The comparison being shown of the picture is between a preserved basket vs FRESH flowers basket. Our fresh flowers basket is 360 degrees, and our preserved basket is usually one sided, in this case, it can also be called front facing.

* Mariposa is at $108 due to the expensive flowers that are placed inside. It includes a beige roseamor (which is a rose thats larger than usual roses, and more pricey), another rose, carnation and zinna, all imported from Japan. The pink-green gradient hydrangea is also imported from Japan. Preserved flowers and fillers from Japan are more expensive and of higher quality as compared to those from China. To fill the basket to the brim, it would increase the cost as well, hence we decided to discontinue the basket design.

• The only reason we consulted a lawyer was her very first post (before any edit), was defamatory towards us. Our lawyer has confirmed that it was and hence with that advice, we sent the message to have it taken down. We acknowledge that she has since edited it to simply state facts.

• We are striving to do better and move forward from this incident. We do not appreciate any death threats or curse words sent our way, and hope that we all can be kind.
