A netizen had recently uploaded a post on a Grab Food Delivery Riders’ Facebook page, accusing one delivery rider of beating two red lights consecutively on 6 August 2022 around 5.15 pm in Pasir Ris.
It is unknown if the said delivery rider is working on the Grab Food platform or on other delivery platforms.
According to the netizen who wrote the post, other motorists on the road were sounding their horns at the said delivery rider because of his inconsiderate behaviour while on the road.
However, the delivery rider chose to ignore the warning horns that sounded at him.
The netizen also said that this is a good reason why Power-assisted bikes (PABs) should be removed totally from the roads.
Here is the post by the netizen
“You beat red light twice consecutively at Pasir Ris today at 5.15pm. Both not give way to crossing pedestrians (even if they were on the other side of the road).
All caught and recorded on my cam.
Cars honked at you but you just ignored.
This is an example of modified PAB riders that should be removed from the roads.”

Many PAB users work for food delivery platforms such as Grab
Most PAB users seen on the roads are usually delivery riders working on food delivery platforms such as Grab etc.
Riders on food delivery platforms like Grab are paid per successful delivery, and it is no wonder why some of them rush to collect and delivery their orders.
However, before they can use a PAB to do their delivery work on platforms like Grab, they must first take an online theory test by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) and pass the test.
