FOODPANDA RIDER SPILL DRINK & TORE THE PAPER BAG, LEAVES IT OUTSIDE CUSTOMER’S HOME & FLEES

A recent Facebook post has brought attention to a customer’s disappointing experience with Foodpanda, raising concerns about delivery standards and rider conduct.

The incident occurred when the customer ordered food from VeganBurg via the Foodpanda platform, resulting in an unpleasant surprise.

Rider left like a ghost

In the Facebook post, the customer explained that they had not instructed the Foodpanda rider to leave the order outside the house.

However, the rider silently dropped off the food and departed without any indication of a delivery being made, leaving the customer unaware that their order had arrived until they received a notification.

The customer recounted that, in previous instances, riders had hung their deliveries on a hook on the gate for convenience when in a hurry.

However, in this case, the customer found the food on the ground by the side wall of their house, making it virtually invisible unless they ventured outside to check. Despite the inconvenience, the customer initially decided to accept the situation.

Drink spilled, paper bag torn, order abandoned

Unfortunately, this gesture of understanding led to further disappointment. Upon picking up the bag to bring it inside, it tore, causing the contents, including a drink, to spill onto the ground.

The spilled drink made the paper bag wet and weakened its structure, rendering it unable to carry the weight of the food items inside.

The handle of the bag was also torn. Consequently, the rider decided to abandon the order on the ground and left the scene without any explanation.

The disgruntled customer made it clear that their frustration was not directed at delivery riders in general. They acknowledged the challenges of the job and the need for understanding in various situations.

However, their complaint centered on what they perceived as a lack of dignity and integrity displayed by the particular rider in question.

The customer expressed their disappointment and disgust at the rider’s behavior, emphasizing that customers order food for consumption, not to eat from the ground or drink from a plastic bag.

The customer concluded by urging Foodpanda to take note of the incident and address the matter, calling for improved delivery standards and greater accountability among their riders.

Ordered food from VeganBurg via Food Panda. Did NOT instruct to leave outside house. Rider quietly came, delivered and left. Not even a “delivery” sound. Only realised food was delivered after the notification came. Opened the door and I couldn’t find any food at the gate. I have a hook on the gate and usually riders who are in a rush will just hang it on the gate and leave. Yes you read that correctly. Riders have left food at my gate before and I never made an issue about it as long as the food was safe.

Now… I opened the gate and realised the food was on the floor by the wall at the side of my house. Which means it’s not visible if I did not come out of the house to check. Yet, I said “fine it’s ok” and carried the bag to go inside. Guess what. The bag tore and everything dropped on the floor. That’s when I realised that the drink has already spilled inside the bag, made the paper bag wet and weak to carry the weight of the items inside. Since the handle too was already torn, the rider decided to leave it on the floor and run away.

I have totally nothing against delivery riders. I’ve done this job before so I know it’s not an easy job. But please have some dignity. People order food to eat. Not to eat it from the floor. People order drink not to drink from plastic bag. All the rider had to do was just tell me what had happened and I wouldn’t even have bothered putting up this post. What irritates me is that the rider has no dignity nor integrity to inform the customer. Extremely disappointed and disgusted.
