FOODPANDA RIDER VS DISPATCHER, WANT TO SEE PIC OF SHOP BUT MALL IS CLOSED

A Foodpanda delivery rider received an order for an eatery at Westgate, despite the shopping mall (along with JEM) being closed until 5 June after a spike in Covid-19 cases among the visitors of the mall.

The rider, @ziataffazal shared on Twitter, about how he was supposed to pick up an “order” from the closed mall.

He then reached out to the dispatch agent to cancel the order, to which the agent then asked him to “explain (his) issue so (she) can help (him)”.

The rider then said:

“Hello, the whole mall closed… The mall closed how can the shop be open?”

The agent, disbelieving him, asked him to provide a picture of the closed shop.

The rider then replied:

“Ma’am, the whole mall closed, how to go in and take photo of the shop?”

The agent then apologised and said she wasn’t able to cancel the order because it was accepted; instead she asked him to approach the shop before seeking assistance from dispatch again.

To which the exasperated rider then said:

“waaat. OI. WHOLE MALL CLOSE.”

A spokesperson from Foodpanda then shared that the order was finally cancelled after a picture of the mall’s closed entrance was provided.
