A football coach from a Singapore-based football academy has been sacked after allegedly sending inappropriate WhatsApp messages to his female footballers, according to The Monitor.
The alleged incident happened during an overseas trip for a competition, and the coach in question allegedly sent inappropriate messages to a couple of female youth players.
The academy’s name was not named, with The Monitor saying that they wanted to protect the young female players involved in the incident.
The Monitor also stopped short of sharing the full details of the “type of photos” that the female players received, citing the “nature of the content”.
A spokesperson for the academy spoke to The Monitor and said they have conducted a thorough investigation with all the parties involved.
They added that when the issue came to light, the coach was immediately suspended, and at the time of writing, he has since been released from his contract with the academy.
