Former Mediacorp actor, 50-year-old Ix Shen, who has been living in the Kyiv for the last 4 months, has finally evacuated Ukraine and reached Poland.
He arrived safely in Poland on an overnight bus from the Ukrainian city of Lviv, of which he drove down to from Kyiv to deliver the car to its owner; as the Russian invasion of Ukraine battles on.
The border between Poland and Ukraine is about 70km away from the Ukrainian city of Lviv.
Shen is at his first pit stop in Poland as he heads towards the capital of Warsaw.
Posting on his Instagram to update his followers about his wellbeing, Shen said that he was safe and okay in Poland.
He said that it was really heartwarming to see many welfare stations that were run by Polish volunteers, providing free hot meals, drinks, clothes for the displaced Ukrainians.
Nearly 1.5 million people have reportedly fled to Poland as the Russian invaders continue their indiscriminate shelling of the Ukrainian cities.
According to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, more than 2 million people have fled Ukraine, with 1.8 million of them being displaced by the war, which kickstarted on 24 February.
