Li Xuanwei, former senior constituency manager of Pasir Ris, was sentenced to 12 weeks jailed on Thursday (July 16). He pleaded guilty to two counts of cheating and another two charges were taken into consideration.

He received cheques amounting to $5,919.27 which were already paid by Pasir Ris Zone 7 as he lied to the vice cairman of Pasir Ris Zone 8 that he had paid vendors with his own money and requested for reimbursement.
The fraud was only uncovered in August 2018 when an internal audit was conducted on their accounts. Li admitted that he had recycled invoices that already had been paid to cheat Pasir Ris Zone 8.
