Former Police jailed For drugs, housebreaking and other charges

A man who used to serve the force as a Police were sentenced to jail after committing several crimes such as doing drugs and breaking into neighbour’s house.

35-year-old Tan Yan Chong was sentenced to one year and 11 months in jail after pleading in court.

One of the incidents happened during April 2018, He was arrested for trying to climb into his neighbour’s house via his unit’s balcony in the middle of the night. It has been reported that the incident happened at Bukit Timah. He was arrested after his neighbour discovered what he was doing after the authorities arrested him 30 ecstasy tablets were found.

The authorities later also found drugs in his home that consisted of Methamphetamine and Ketamine. The report stated that over 50 packs of drugs were found.

It did take long for him to be arrested again, just nine days after he was released from bail.

He tried to set his neighbour’s house on fire and was discovered by his neighbour again leading to the arrest.
