Most drivers parking at a HDB estate will have experienced free parking whilst visiting family elders, family and friends on a Sunday and public holidays.
Well, has anyone of you ever given a thought of why or how that had actually came about?
Dr Tan Cheng Bock had entered politics during the 1980s and one can humbly say that he had contributed some great implimentations for the citizens and having free parking on the above mentioned days were one of them.
Dr Tan had pushed the Ministry of National Development for such a benefit for citizens to actually promote family togetherness and family bonding and help easing some of you from looking at your watches while your visiting your aged parents.
Dr Tan may have lost this elections by a very slim margin, but one can always feel his presence whenever you save afew dollars whilst parking on a sunday or public holiday at HDB estates.
