The Champions League final between Liverpool and Real Madrid saw chaos outside the stadium that eventually delayed the kick-off time for the game.
Dozens of people were arrested, with the French police utilizing tear gas and pepper sprays on fans who were trying to get into the stadium.
The French authorities blamed the situation on a problem with fake tickets, but Liverpool said that their fans who held genuine tickets were not allowed access into the stadium.
Liverpool footballer Andy Robertson also spoke to reporters about the situation after being told that the chaos was marked by alleged problems with fake tickets.
He said that many of the footballers’ families who attended were affected and told that they had fake tickets, but the tickets were given to them by the players through the club, as many questioned the seemingly absured explanation given by the french authorities and UEFA.
The French interior ministry said that 68 people have been detained, of which 39 were arrested and remanded, facing possible charges.
