The president of France, Emmanuel Macron, was seen approaching a group of people behind a barrier, speaking to them and seemingly thanking them.

The man that Macon was speaking to then gave the French president a slap across his face, as the man said: “down with Macronia”.
The president’s security then pulled him away from the man.
Two people have since been reportedly arrested after the incident.
