i’m a fresh grad and working in a MNC fund company.
i was previously an intern and got converted. i had qualms about conversion previously as my boss micromanages back when i was WFH due to covid.
But because of the great package, it was tempting to accept and just tender maybe after 1-2 years. however i’m about 2 months in, and she has done many small antics, and badmouth about my colleagues to HR etc which i have heard. not to forget, she’s honestly quite incompetent, and she has not “mentored” me and i’m not doing much of the JD she previously promised me back when she wanted to convert me.
She said it’s just part of this project and we are a lean team, and things will improve when we finish this project. but i simply cannot stand to work with her anymore as she really makes you feel small and incompetent at work, when she doesn’t even give clear instructions and expects people to know what her expectations are. and once i said i wasn’t aware of her expectations, and mild chiding, she will “comfort” me by saying it’s part of the learning experience (which she will definitely hold a grudge as i have observed from other colleagues).
I honestly don’t even learn anything, maybe only learn how fake can one be maybe lol. how do i even know what i’m supposed to do, as a total fresh grad, when she doesn’t tell me what she expects of a particular task. she expects everything to be on “perfect” and claims credit for herself instead of the team who has been slogging so hard.
in any case, would appreciate genuine response as to how i can get of this?
should i go to HR to request for internal transfer/ relocate? but she would be notified too, and my notice period would likely be hell.
or should i look for another job? and not put this as my experience? because i think they would call my manager for verification, and i honestly don’t know whether she would help me out.
