According to a media release, a French national cyclist was fined $2,000 after causing hurt to a 56-year-old woman due to negligence.
The incident happened on the 14 Mar 2020, the woman was exercising with her colleagues at Garden By The Bay while heading towards Marina Barrage. Halfway through her exercise, the woman was knocked down by the cyclist from the back which caused her to fall to the ground.
Due to the impact of the collision, the woman was sent sliding one meter away from the cyclist. She then suffered a deep cut on her arm exposing her bone.
The woman was later sent to Singapore General Hospital for further treatment.
During the hearing, the man admitted to his offence and explained that he was attracted by the scenery in the park which caused the accident.
