Recently, A viral screenshot of an Indian national posting a photo Singapore’s flag getting ripped open and revealing the Indian flag has reached the ears of the police. The police are currently investigating the person that posted it.
The image was posted around 4 days ago on the 14th of August 2018, which is one day after India’s Independence Day. The widely shared photo has infuriated locals and it has been revealed that the photo originated from a Facebook group with 11,000 foreign talent members.
The Indian national that posted that photo is a permanent resident in Singapore goes by the name of Avijit Das Patnaik.
Both his Facebook & Linkedin profile have been taken down.
His employer DBS bank is currently looking into this matter. When it comes to the law of defacing the National Flag or showing disrespect, the maximum fine available can go up to $1000.
There is a chance that he might lose his job at the bank
