FT TAIWANESE JAILED 11 WEEKS FOR SNEEZING ON SECURITY GUARD

Sun Szu-Yen, 46, was jailed for 11 weeks after sneezing on a security guard at Ion Orchard. It was believed that she was frustrated after being denied entry into the mall as she did not have a facemask.

Sun tried to use her scarf to wrap around her mouth but she was still denied entry. She then proceeded to sneeze in the guard’s direction. She then said : “You get it? You get it already!” She then took her passport from her bag and said: “I am China, I am Taiwan.”

She even asked the security guard to shut up. Her acts was captured on closed circuit television.

For harassment, Sun could have been fined up to S$5,000, jailed up to six months or both.
