Co chair of the Multi-Ministry Task Force Gan Kim Yong, speaking at a press conference on 2 October, said that Singapore could start seeing the daily infections tally rise to more than 5,000.
However, with that being said, the majority can recover at home as they will be asymptomatic or have mild symptoms.
MOH said that they expect the current 3,200 cases to be surpassed.
The Stabilisation Phase was introduced on 27 September, with dining-in restrictions being tightened as well as Home Based Learning and Work From Home measures.
MOH said that the full impact of the tightened measures usually takes about a week or more to be seen.
They also added that the rate of increase of the cases appeared to have slowed down.
They did highlight that the percentage of patients who require ICU are low at 0.2 percent, but with more daily cases, the number of people who require ICU care is expected to increase.
The situation will be continued to be monitored in the next weeks.
Seniors are at a higher risk of severe illness and MOH emphasized on the strong evidence that vaccinations protect against sever diseases.
They encourages all seniors and especially the unvaccinated ones, to avoid crowded places and to take precautions.
