In a quiet HDB block nestled in Bukit Panjang, a peculiar and unsettling feud between two neighbors unfolded over a period of two years, leaving the community bewildered.
The Stage is Set
The tale begins with an unsettling incident at Block 137 Petir Road, in Bukit Panjang, when 68-year-old Wang Su Zuan, displeased with her neighbor Ida, allegedly poured urine into Ida’s shoes. This act was merely the beginning of an ongoing dispute that would baffle onlookers, according to Shin Min Daily News.
Wang’s displeasure with Ida seemed to know no bounds. Over the next two years, she continued her campaign of harassment.
One of the most disturbing acts was her habit of barging into Ida’s flat while it was being renovated and the latter then chased Wang out of her house, as well as other acts that included using markers to draw circles on the corridor outside Ida’s home, and pouring urine onto her shoe rack and 6 pairs of shoes, which resulted in the victim suffering $304 in losses.
The acts of harassment came to a head when Wang entered Ida’s home again about a month later, over a missing slipper.
Fined
As the situation spiraled out of control, legal intervention became inevitable. Wang, aged 68, found herself in court, facing an S$800 fine. This fine was imposed for two counts of mischief and two breaches of the Miscellaneous Offences (Public Order and Nuisance) Act.
In her defense, Wang claimed that Ida was the instigator of their feud and that her intrusive actions were merely reactions to Ida’s behavior.
She emphasized that, under normal circumstances, she would not willingly enter Ida’s house, even if somebody paid her $100,000.
