The Video’s Content
The video clip reveals two men walking along the pedestrian footpath of Yishun Avenue 2. One of the men is dressed in the distinctive green GrabFood delivery rider attire.
He was seen swinging his arms and walking aggressively towards another man wearing a black shirt and long pants, who was backing off and walking backwards.
As the video progresses, the GrabFood delivery rider approaches the other man, throwing three punches with his hand while advancing towards him.
In response, the man continues walking backward to maintain a safe distance from the aggressor.
Around 50 seconds into the video, the GrabFood rider abruptly turns around and walks in the opposite direction. Interestingly, the other man follows him closely. It remains unclear whether the two individuals were acquainted with each other.
Confrontation Caught on Camera
The GrabFood delivery rider later notices that someone across the road is recording the incident. In a raised voice, he exclaims in Mandarin, urging the person not to photograph him or he will throw his phone away.
Expressing his confusion, the delivery rider questions the person behind the camera, asking why they are filming him.
In an attempt to calm the situation, the other man nudges the GrabFood rider’s arm. However, instead of diffusing the conflict, the GrabFood rider retaliates in English, asking the man why he allowed the cameraman to film him.
The delivery rider retrieves his own camera and starts filming the cameraman as well.
As the GrabFood rider eventually left the scene, the other man continued following him and at this point, another female passerby then stepped in and tried to deecalate the situation.
The video caption suggests that both men eventually return to a nearby mosque where the GrabFood delivery rider’s electric bike was parked, and that the cameraman who filmed the video had purportedly reported the incident to the police.
