A video emerged online showing a man in white ruthlessly attacking another man, punching him repeatedly in the face.
It is unclear what the fight was about or what he was saying, but he did mention something about the gang “salakau” and used Malay vulgarities on the man.
Another man was seen in the video trying to calm the aggressor down but to no avail, as the victim got attacked without retaliating.
Potential penalties
According to Chapter 224 of the Penal Code, anyone who disturbs public peace by fighting in public is guilty of committing an affray.
Upon conviction, offenders could face a jail term of up to one year and/or a fine of up to $5,000.
According to Chapter 321 of the Penal Code, anyone who performs an act that causes hurt to a person is guilty of Voluntarily Causing Hurt.
