
According to a media release, 18 German postal workers were sent to the hospital after they were exposed to a package that contains durians.
The smell from the King of fruit has forced all 60 employees to be evacuated from the building. The local police and fire department were alerted after an employee noticed the smell coming from a shipment.
The incident happened on the 20 Jun 2020 at a post office located at Bavarian town of Schweinfurt. Due to uncertainty, the package was labelled as a great risk and was examined cautiously.
After investigation, it appears that the durians belong to a 50-year-old resident of the town. Eventually, the fruit was delivered to the recipient.
In this incident, 12 employees were sent to the hospital after feeling sick from the smell. 6 others were sent to the hospital as a precaution. A total of 6 ambulances and 5 fast response vehicle were activated for the incident.
