GF FOUND BLACK LEGGINS IN BF’S WARDROBE & ACCUSE HIM OF CHEATING

My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 2 years. We had a short break up in August and got back together and have been fine ever since. In his room, there is a closet next to his bed (my side of the bed) that doesn’t get used much. He has always had his action figures in a case in the closet and an old tv along with a few old comforters folded up. I have not looked in this closet at all since we got back together.

Yesterday, I was cleaning my clothes up that was on the floor next to the closet to do laundry. I spotted black leggings at the bottom of the closet and pulled them out thinking they were definitely mine and somehow got in there. When I pulled them out, I realized they were not mine.

I asked him about them and he said he has no clue who’s they are and that they look like they’ve been in there a long time. After talking to him more he said he thinks they are from a girl from before we started dating. However, I have definitely been in that closet before we broke up and those leggings were never there. I also watched a video in my camera roll I took of his dog a week before we broke up and I could see the bottom of the closet in the video…those were not in there.

I honestly don’t care if they are from the breakup, but he’s denying anybody ever being over during that time and of course denying anybody being over since we got back together. I doubt he wants me to know about things during the breakup, but if he doesn’t give me a plausible explanation, I feel like I have no other choice but to feel a little suspicious that he has done something shady.

How do I go about this without being too accusatory while also letting him know it doesn’t make sense? If you were in my situation, would your mind jump to cheating or from the breakup?
