So, I’m currently a few weeks into BMT. Standard story: shaved my head, surrendered my pink IC, and said a tearful goodbye to my GF of two years. I thought we were solid. I spent my admin time every night calling her, telling her about the siao-on sergeants and how much I miss her cooking.
Last night during our 5-minute “goodnight” call, she sounded… distant. I asked her if she was okay, and she just sighed and said, “B, honestly, NS is so long. You’re always inside, and nobody is here to give me what I need.”
I was confused. I asked, “Give you what? Emotional support? My sister can help buy you pearls if you’re craving BBT?”
Then she dropped the bomb. She straight up told me, “You’re always botak and busy. If I don’t have a botak guy to give it to me, I’ll just find another one who’s free.”
I thought she was joking. I laughed and said, “Where you going to find another botak guy? ICA building?”
She wasn’t laughing. She told me she already found someone. Apparently, she’s been seeing some guy who just ORD-ed but kept the buzz cut because he “likes the aesthetic.” She literally replaced me with a “Premium Version” botak who actually has civilian rights and a car.
She ended the call by saying, “At least he can give me his time. You can only give me your 11B and extra duty.”
So here I am, sitting on my bunk bed, staring at the ceiling fans, wondering if I should just sign on so I can at least get paid to be miserable.
TL;DR: GF missed me too much while I’m in NS, so she found another botak guy who isn’t stuck behind a 2.4km run to “give” her what she wants.
