Me (34m) and my girlfriend (32f) have been dating for a while.
Her kid (young, under 5) has a couple pictures in the kid’s bedroom of the parents (her and her ex), which I’m completely ok with. I figured before the pictures were maybe of them as a family or them individually, but I just learned yesterday that at least a couple of those pictures are from their wedding and showing them as a romantic couple.
We’re getting pretty serious and I’m worried her kid is growing up with these pictures of them as a couple will see me as someone who is getting in the way of them being together as a family. Would I be an a-hole for asking her to replace them with other images like photos of her kid and herself only or just photos of her kid?
I know I sound a little bit petty about this but I really do not want the kid to grow up thinking that I was the cause of the divorce of her parents.
Also, just the thought of those pictures being from their wedding makes me feel like she cannot get over her ex and I am just a substitute.
I am at a loss on what can I do or what I should do?
Can anyone help me out and give me some advice?
