I was so confused when my girlfriend asked me to give her 999 roses to prove my genuine love for her.
I had never heard of such a thing before, and I couldn’t understand why she would ask for something so outrageous. I knew I loved her deeply, so why did I need to buy her so many roses?
I wanted to make her happy and prove my love, but I just didn’t know how.
I thought about it for a few days and eventually decided to take her out for dinner at KFC instead. I knew it wasn’t the same as giving her 999 roses, but I figured it was the best I could do.
When I asked her why she wanted 999 roses in the first place, she said it was because she wanted to know how much I truly loved her. I tried to explain to her that I didn’t need to give her anything to prove my love, but she said she still wanted to see the gesture.
When I brought her to KFC, she was really excited. She ordered her favourite meal and I paid for it. I asked her if she was happy with the surprise and she said she was.
But then, when I asked her why she wanted 999 roses in the first place, she said that it was because she wanted to know how much I truly loved her. I tried to explain to her that I didn’t need to give her anything to prove my love, but she said she still wanted to see the gesture.
At this point, I was starting to get frustrated. Why couldn’t she just accept my gift? I had gone out of my way to make her happy and she still wasn’t satisfied.
That’s when I said something that I probably shouldn’t have. I said, “Buy flowers for what? Can’t even eat!”
My girlfriend was obviously taken aback by my comment and I immediately regretted it. I apologized profusely and tried to explain that I didn’t mean it in a bad way. I told her that I was just upset because she was asking for something that was impossible for me to give her.
My girlfriend eventually forgave me and we ended up having a great night. We talked and laughed until late in the night, and I realized that this was all that really mattered. Even though I couldn’t give her 999 roses, I had still done something special for her and she appreciated it.
