I think my mom hasn’t showered in over a year.
For context, I (16F) and my mom (~45F) live together in, what id say, is a nice home. We aren’t super fortunate but we manage, we are lower middle class.
She works 6 days a week for hours at a job that’s pretty exhausting, she’s a manager for a place that’s especially busy during this time of year.
When she gets home, I’ve noticed that she’s usually too tired to cook and she just chills out – which I’m okay with.
On her day off, she spends time with me but i haven’t seen her shower in a while. She sleeps in the living room every night despite having a room.
I think it’s just a bad habit but it makes me sad seeing that she doesn’t take care of herself properly anymore.
She doesn’t smell or look dirty so I’m pretty sure she showers but not often or when I’m around. I want to convince her to get back into the routine of showering or bathing everyday but I don’t want to seem like I’m calling her dirty. I love her so much and I just want the best for her.
Ever since i developed anorexia, she’s cared about me much more than herself and i think the habit just stuck. Any advice??
