My friend had always considered herself to be a fairly conservative person.
She says that she don’t like to go out of her way to draw attention to myself, and she generally tries to avoid doing anything too outrageous or outlandish.
That was what I thought until I first went drinking with her
Unfortunately, it didn’t take long for my friend to prove me wrong. When we went out together for the first time for drinks, she would forget her conservative values when she sees any good-looking guy.
She would start flirting with him, and even go as far as to try and touch him. It made me incredibly uncomfortable, but I didn’t feel like I could say anything about it.
At first, I thought it was harmless fun. But then I started to notice how it was affecting her. She would become obsessed with the person she was flirting with, and it would be all she could talk about for days.
She would constantly be checking her phone for messages from them, and she would become moody and withdrawn if they didn’t respond.
It soon became clear to me that my friend was never a conservative person that she claimed that she was.
I laugh whenever I hear her telling people that she is conservative
I did not bother too much though as it was none of my business but whenever she brought up to anyone that she was a conservative person, I would laughed and asked if she was sure.
She would always defend herself though and insist that she is conservative and when I brought up what I always see when I drink with her, she would blame it on the alcohol.
She also told me that she knows her issue and wants to change it, but we all know that it is all just talk without action.
One day, we went out with a group of people whom we knew from joining a new CCA. I watched as she spotted a good-looking guy in the group and began flirting with him, just like she always did.
I realised then that she would never change, and that she would always be a conservative person in name only.Â
