In her post, she said that she does not find it romantic to date guys who bring her around in public transport. She then further elaborated that it is not acceptable for a man to not own a car after marriage as she felt that it is not acceptable for a woman to go to work or go home in a bus or MRT.

The Facebook user continues to say that the pandemic is a good time to gauge if someone is of a marriageable material. She said that “if the man got retrenched or become jobless during this pandemic, it is a pretty good gauge if they are employable with their qualifications and skillsets.”

She then mentioned that if she was to support a man who lost their job she rather continues to remain single.

Her post has received many comments from netizens. Many has questioned her definition of marriage and some even advise her to stay single.

In her post:

“I started using dating apps a few weeks ago and had ghosted a few guys when I got to know they don’t own a car or when I got to know they drive an old, small, or a nearly ten-year-old, Korean or Japanese car.

Like, hey, c’mon! How is dating on public transport romantic? Not only there is no privacy, one has to put up with some passengers’ endless chatter, perfume smell, and kids running amok in the train cabins.

Not only that.

When a man gets too comfortable using public transport, you’re condemned to taking public transport with him your entire life. Imagine getting married to that pauper, family planning comes along and when heavily pregnant, a woman has to go to work/go home in a bus or MRT. Not acceptable.

I also find this pandemic is good time to gauge if someone is of a marriageable material. If they get retrenched or become jobless during this pandemic, it is a pretty good gauge if they are employable with their qualifications and skill sets.

If they are unscathed during this pandemic, it is likely they will remain unscathed in the next economy downturn. Supporting a man financially would be the last thing I want to do in my lifetime. I would rather stay single than to have an additional mouth to feed.”
