A girl has shared her story on NUSWhisper Facebook page about her boyfriend being allergic to dogs. According to the girl, she loves her dog as much as her boyfriend and even wanted her dog to move in with them after both get married.
However, due to his boyfriend allergies, her boyfriend told her that he couldn’t live together with her dog and that will be one of his requirement to get married. The girl was devastated by what she was told. She then thinks that the only solution for her to marry her boyfriend is after her dog passes away.
In her post:
“I’ve been dating my boyfriend for five months now, and it’s been so wonderful between us that we even talked about future housing plans. It was only recently he came to my house for the first time to meet my parents, and while my parents loved him, we realized then that he was allergic to dogs. At my house, he kept sneezing, getting a runny nose, and his skin itches where my dog touches him. It was so bad that he had to get out of the house after a while, and he never realized he was allergic to one as he had never been to such close proximity to dogs in his life until now.
This is really tearing me apart. On one hand, he is telling me that he cannot live in the same house as my dog and that is going to be a requirement for him to get married. On another hand, I really love my dog and I honestly cannot live without my dog
What should I do? I really love both him and the dog, so I was thinking the only solution is to wait till my dog pass away before we get married and move in to a new house together. I’ve suggested that to him, but he is thinking of settling down fast and we don’t know how many years my dog has left as he’s only 2 years old. Sigh, does anyone out there has met with such a problem before? Any sincere solution or tips for me?”
