A girl shared how she is trying to lose weight but finds it hard because her family keeps buying her goodies and she can’t control herself and eats it.
Here is the story
Trying to lose weight but my family don’t make it easy
I’ve been trying to lose weight for what seems like forever. When I had gone to uni it was fairly easy because I could order everything I needed and I cooked for myself and the fridge was filled with only healthy things – no distractions.
At home, we know we should eat healthier. We try but most times my parents show lots of their love by buying us sweet treats. It’s a wonderful gesture and I appreciate them for doing their best all the time and perhaps they’re happy to buy these goodies for us.
However, it doesn’t make it easy for me at all. I have no clue why I have zero self control and each time I want to stick to a strict diet, there’s no veg in the house, or they’d come home from shopping and bring some sweet treats and bread.
My sister doesn’t want to join the weight loss and healthy lifestyle as well so I feel less motivated. I’m not blaming her. Just explaining how the circumstances make it a little harder for me.
I depend on the food they bring because my salary doesn’t pay enough to do weekly shopping and make a saving whilst paying off 3 debts, and I can’t help but be influenced by the food in our shared fridge.
Any tips on how I can get better/stronger to ignore the unhealthy food in the fridge? I’m becoming frustrated that I can never reach my goal because I’m that mentally weak.
