However, on the 28th of August, Mr. Goh revealed that he had been involved in a traffic accident while on his way to the renowned Ghibli Museum in Tokyo, Japan.

A Peaceful Retirement and Social Media Presence

On the 28th of August, during his visit to the Ghibli Museum in Tokyo, he disclosed that he had been part of a traffic accident. While the exact location of the mishap remains unspecified, it was revealed that the van carrying Mr. Goh had sideswiped another vehicle.

According to Mr. Goh’s account, the accident occurred when the other car attempted to make a right turn despite the traffic light being in favor of the van he was traveling in.

A picture shared by Mr. Goh displayed significant damage to the left side of the van, indicating a forceful impact. However, the fortunate aspect of this incident was that both vehicles were reportedly moving at a relatively slow speed of around 50 kilometers per hour.

Swift Response and Continued Journey

Mr. Goh acknowledged the prompt response of the Japanese authorities to the accident. A police officer arrived at the scene within approximately 10 minutes of the incident. After the situation was assessed, Mr. Goh and his companions continued their journey in a cab.

In a subsequent Facebook post, Mr. Goh provided more insights into the accident. He recounted how the van had decelerated in a controlled manner before colliding with the other car, a detail that likely contributed to the absence of injuries among the van’s passengers.

Mr. Goh also took the opportunity to express his gratitude to well-wishers and concerned individuals who reached out to check on his condition. He emphasized that he was in good health and spirits, reassuring everyone that the incident had not deterred his travel plans.

On our way to the Ghibli Museum, our passenger van banged into the side of a car which turned right at the traffic light when it was in our favour. Fortunately, no one in either car was hurt. Our car was travelling at about 50 kph. A policeman appeared within 10 minutes. We continued on our way in a taxi. — gct

Thanks all for your concern. I am fine. Not a scratch. I watched the car cutting across our van and our driver braking in a controlled manner, followed by the bang. Hence, none of the passengers were thrown forward. Luckily, the other driver was also unhurt. Ghibli Museum does not allow photo taking in the museum. The museum is about animation and imagination. — gct
