GOJEK RIDE INFESTED WITH 6 COCKROACHES, WOMAN TRAUMATISED FOR 40 MINS

A disturbing incident in Singapore has left a woman and her boyfriend shaken after they discovered six cockroaches scurrying around in their Gojek car. The woman, known as @tffnyzhng on TikTok, shared a harrowing video of their experience on June 19, which has since gone viral.

The video shows a compilation of cockroaches crawling on the car doors, passenger seatbelt buckle, and other areas of the vehicle. Tiffany, 26, recounted the ordeal to Mothership, stating that she and her boyfriend initially spotted one small cockroach and asked the driver for a piece of tissue paper to catch it. However, as the ride progressed, more roaches appeared, leaving the couple in distress.

Despite their initial reluctance to disturb the driver, Tiffany’s boyfriend eventually raised the issue, only to be met with a nonchalant response. The driver claimed to have already performed fogging and attributed the roaches to a nearby construction site. Tiffany described the driver’s demeanor as “chill and calm” despite their distress.

The 40-minute ride, which was longer than usual due to traffic, left Tiffany feeling “traumatized.” She expressed disappointment with Gojek’s response to her experience, stating that she was unhappy with the company’s handling of the situation. Initially, a Gojek representative claimed to have attempted to contact her boyfriend but was unable to reach him. However, Tiffany’s boyfriend did not receive a single phone call until the morning of June 20, when he received a call and an email from Gojek apologizing for the situation and offering a full refund and two S$5 vouchers.

The incident has led Tiffany to boycott Gojek, despite having used the ride-hailing app consistently for years. Mothership has reached out to Gojek for comments on the matter. The incident raises concerns about the cleanliness and maintenance of Gojek vehicles, and the company’s response to customer complaints.
