GOV OKAYS FOR M’SIAN CITIZENS TO WITHDRAW $10K FROM THEIR EPF DUE TO COVID

The government will allow those who have lost their jobs or suffered pay cuts to withdraw up to RM10,000 from their Employees Provident Fund (EPF) Account 1.

All contributors to the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) whose income are affected by the Covid-19 pandemic can now apply to withdraw their savings and the withdrawal applies to contributors regardless of whether they have lost their jobs or suffered a loss of income.

“Regardless of whether they have lost their jobs or experienced a loss of income, these members are eligible to apply for withdrawal from their EPF Account 1,” said Finance Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz.

He added that this included those who are from the formal sector, self-employed, and whether or they are still active contributors.
