GRAB’S 5 MINS GRACE PERIOD TO BE REDUCED TO 3 MINS, LATE = $3/$5 FEE PER 5 MINS

Grab Singapore said that they will be reducing the grace period for waiting time for most of their rides, down from 5 minutes to 3 minutes.

The new grace period timing will be effective from 18 July onwards.

In an announcement via the Grab app, they said that “less waiting time will mean more rides to go around.”

“Grace periods will be reduced to 3 mins, starting from 18 July. Grace periods for rides will soon be reduced, less waiting time will mean more rides to go around.

From 18th July, the grace waiting and cancellation period for rides will be reduced from 5 minutes to 3 minutes.

This applies to all rides except for GrabExec, GrabExec 6, GrabAssist and GrabAssist Plus.

You are encouraged to book rides only when ready to ensure you have ample time to reach your pick-up point.

New grace periods

For JustGrab, GrabPet, GrabFamily, GrabCar and GrabCar plus, what new grace waiting time will be 3 minutes, with effect from 18 July.

After which there will be a $3 charge per 5-minute waiting block.

GrabShare already has a grace waiting time of 3 minutes, after which there will be a $3 charge per 5-minute waiting block.

For GrabCar Premium, there will be a 3 minutes grace waiting implemented on 18 July as well, with a $5 fee per 5 minute waiting block.

GrabCoach’s grace waiting time is 10 minutes, with a $10 fee per 10 minute waiting block.

All in all, the affected Grab ride types are essentially JustGrab, GrabPet, GrabFamily, GrabCar, GrabCar Plus, and GrabCar Premium.
