A video emerged online showing a group of people having an illegal gathering, drinking and singing at an undisclosed location.
They were seen drinking and singing karaoke, as well as mingling around among themselves.
The group was huddled together and having a great time, singing Ne-Yo’s 2010 hit song, One In A Million together.
One of the guys was also seen singing with an illegal vaporiser in his hand.
Potential penalties
Breach of safe distancing measures
First-time offenders who breach safe distancing measures are fined $300.
For non-compliance with safe management measures under the Covid-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations 2020, offenders may be jailed for up to six months, fined up to S$10,000, or both.
Not wearing masks
If they are caught by the Police for not wearing a mask or not wearing a mask properly they can be charged under the Covid-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations 2020.
Penalties include a fine of up to SGD$10,000 and jail for up to six months.
Possession of vaporiser
Under section 16(2A) of the Tobacco (Control of Advertisements and Sale) Act (TCASA), it is illegal to possess, purchase and use vaporizers in Singapore as of 1 February 2018.
Persons found guilty of this offense can be fined up to $2,000.
