Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said in a live broadcast on 24 March that with effect from 29 March, cross border travel restrictions will be eased substantially, among other things; as the Covid-19 situation in Singapore comes under control.
PM lee said that the testing and quarantining of travelers will be streamlined under a Vaccinated Travel Framework.
Also, most of the restrictions for fully vaccinated travelers entering Singapore will be lifted as well.
This effectively means that Singaporeans will be able to travel just like before the pandemic hit, giving a boost to businesses and especially the tourism sector.
Among the other changes to the Covid-19 rules include the doubling of group sizes to 10 people per group.
Mask wearing will also become optional outdoors, but they will still be required indoors.
For employees, 75% of them can return to the offices, an increase from the previous 50%.
The capacity limits for large events will be increased to 75% (for events with more than 1,000 attendees).
The only thing that remains unchanged is the 1-metre safe distancing between different groups of people where masks are off.
