On April 18, Kumaran went to Commonwealth Crescent without a mask and used his shirt to cover his mouth instead, he was subsequently approached by SG Clean ambassadors to mask up but he insisted that him using his shirt was enough.

Kumaran then tried ordering food from a hawker but was refused service, he became agitated and hurled explicit verbal abuse on one of the ambassadors, who then called the police.

Kumaran walked to one of the ambassadors and pushed him (a 39-year-old man) on the shoulder before making his exit.

He was subsequently arrested and charged on May 15 with breaching Covid-19 rules and then released on bail.

When he awoke, he couldn’t find his belongings so he became agitated at the NUH staff, who then called the police.

The police arrested him on suspicion that he breached liquor consumption rules as he reeked of alcohol but he resisted arrest before eventually being subdued by 3 police officers and 2 security officers.

During his lockup at Police Cantonment Complex, he hurled profanities at police officers.
