GURKHA RAN 2.4KM IN 6.46 MINS FOR IPPT, FINALLY SOMEONE WHO “RUNS FASTER THAN YOUR GRANDMOTHER”

One of the fastest Gurkhas in Singapore, Subas Gurung, smashed his personal record by running 6 minutes and 46 seconds for the 2.4km segment of his Individual Physical Proficiency Test (IPPT).

In comparison, the current national record holder for the 2.4km run in Singapore is Jeevanesh Soundarajah, who ran 6 minutes and 50 seconds at the Pocari 2.4km Run back in August 2022, which is 4 seconds slower than the Gurkha.

This meant that Gurung had run about 1 minute and 7 seconds for each of the 400-metre laps around the track, with the feat made all the more impressive considering he also did 60 push ups and 60 sit ups for his IPPT, before his 2.4km run.

Netizens’ comments

  • ha…I’m still the fastest…. finished half a lap, vomited and the medical vehicle evacuated me to medical center in under 3min
  • 6min 46sec only lol. Mine was 6 min 30 sec for 2 laps.

  • Big deal.. I finish my first lap; everybody go home already.
  • Man could have been a top contender in long distance running in another life
  • Why does he stop immediately after finishing, I thought we were taught to keep moving to slow the heart down gradually
    • Eh you think, I thought, who confirm?
  • Bro.. thats like my 3 rounds and with heavy breathing thinking why i keep eating Mcdonalds
