GUY AFTER CLUBBING CAN’T FIND TAXI, SO HE CYCLE HOME FROM MARINA SQ TO JURONG EAST

A clubber in Singapore found himself without any available transportation options after a night out at Prism nightclub in Marina Square. Undeterred by the lack of a ride, he took matters into his own hands and embarked on an epic bike journey home from Marina Square to Jurong East.

After a night of revelry, the clubber, whose name is Dan, attempted to book a Grab ride to Jurong East. Unfortunately, none of the drivers were willing to make the trip to the western part of Singapore. Undeterred by the challenge, Dan made a bold decision to cycle home, documenting his journey on TikTok.

Dan’s adventure began at around 4:30 AM on a Saturday. His first hurdle arose in the form of rain, as he had to walk for 20 minutes to find a bike to rent.

Despite getting drenched and facing slippery conditions, Dan persevered and expressed his enjoyment of pedaling through the rain. However, once the rain stopped, he described feeling a bit “icky.”

Thirst became the next obstacle on his journey. Dan came across a locked 7-Eleven store at Tanglin Mall, denying him immediate refreshment. It wasn’t until he stumbled upon a petrol kiosk along Holland Road that he finally managed to quench his thirst.

In addition to battling rain and thirst, Dan faced challenging terrain with steep inclines. He had to navigate park connectors and “forested areas” on his own, encountering some eerie moments along the way.

The Botanic Gardens area and a particular park connector reminded him of scenes from the survival horror game ‘Silent Hill.’

While cycling through the early morning darkness, Dan experienced both creepy encounters and unexpected discoveries. The deserted streets and usually bustling roads created an eerie atmosphere, providing him with a unique perspective on Singapore.

He marveled at the tranquil emptiness of familiar roads and the intriguing ambiance of the forested areas.

Finally arriving home, Dan’s physical journey came to an end, but his reflections and lasting memories persisted. Overjoyed with his accomplishment, he rewarded himself with a satisfying McDonald’s supper/breakfast from the Jem outlet.

Despite the journey taking over two hours, significantly longer than the 51 minutes suggested by Google Maps, Dan felt a sense of fulfillment.

Not only did he save approximately S$25 by not taking a Grab ride, but the cycling experience also offered him a cathartic opportunity for introspection and contemplation.
